Hello there, i have a question, how come this year is suppose to be the Blue storm, but 2013-2014, its going to be galactic seed,, shouldnt it be Sun?

This system of keeping time is (to me) a departure from a whole culture. And that departure has the calendar at it's center, but then right close by is language.
So first off, w/ this calendar, I say 'solar ring' instead of 'year'. It's prettier, but otherwise has the same meaning. (I also say 'chronicle' instead of 'calendar' but that's just me).
To answer your question, the New Sirian calendar tracks each day and assigns a Kin to each day. There are 260 kin and we cycle through each one. Each Solar Ring starts on the day known as July 26th and the whole Solar Ring takes its name from the Kin assigned to that day.
This is the same 'logic' by which you are Blue Solar Hand - you started out on Blue Solar Hand so... there.
This 'year' the kin assigned to July 26th gregorian (or as we prefer 1.26.1.1 New Sirian) is Yellow Galactic Seed, therefore that is the name for the whole solar ring (aka 'year')

You understand already that the coming solar ring (orbit, or year) will always augment by one tone, and, go to the next color (blue to yellow, in your example).
The remaining detail is the fact that any day is always coded by the same Earth Family. Thus the Portal Family always opens the year on July 26th. The only yellow member of the Portal Family is the Seed.
