Creating a “me-time” as a student

The life of a student is filled with stress from school work, assignments, social activities, etc. and if not controlled, could be harmful to a student’s health. Students should find some time for self-care in order to maintain their sanity. I have put together me-time tips that students should follow in order to have a balanced life.

Exercise

Exercise is really great for the overall health of the body and can help the brain function better. It may seem impossible to do because of excess school work but if well planned, could work for you. You can decide to walk to school from the hostel instead of driving or taking a bus. Most schools have shower rooms, and if you leave early enough, you could get to school early on time and take a bath. If exercising seems boring to you, you can opt for dancing, swimming, or activities that require your whole body to be active.

Set achievable goals

Do not over exert yourself with trying to achieve so many things at a time. Create a to-do list of things that need to be done and set a realistic time to achieve them, ticking each completed goal, one at a time.

Create some time for yourself

An adage stipulates that all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. This is absolutely true because if you focus solely on school work, you are bound to break down someday. Amidst school work, create time to do whatever it is that destresses you. It could be swimming, hanging out with family and friends, hiking, listening to music, etc. Whichever one makes you happy, create time for it.

Take short breaks

Do not sit for hours studying because it could drain you mentally. If you have a lot of books to study, it is best you schedule time for them and doesn’t try to cram everything in a short while. There is a huge chance of forgetting all that has been crammed the next day if you do so. Set time to study and take short breaks in between to refuel.

Keep positive people around

Being a student means that you would come across unpleasant people around you but rather than let it affect you, try to associate with people who are positive thinkers. Hang out with them if you really need to hang out with people because they bring out the best in you and when it feels like school pressure is much, they can help you feel a lot better.

If you have a lot of assignments or reports to do, you could outsource them to online writers who are professionals in writing any kind of paper ranging from the assignment, book reports, dissertation, to presentations and business plans. When I was a student and needed someone to write my paper because I did not always have the time to do it, I opted for the services of online writers, and they did a good job.
