I´m writing to you from Libertad, San José in the southern Uruguay. I write in a sort of a hurry, to ask for help, advice and collaboration.

We are a fresh married couple, Martín and Tania, i´ve been working as a teacher for 10 years now, first as English Teacher, then in technology and agriculture, now in permaculture. Tania has been a Medical Cosmetologist for 15 years, former empreneur of the year, art teacher, and now working with natural cosmetics. 

We work together in a working cooperative group with educational emphasis, the first and only in the country with the ethical permaculture principles, take care of nature, people and share same benefits.    

As cooperative, we have linked with govenment entities such as the social, education and culture departments, public school and highschool programmes, local governments; in other scene, international permaculture associations, slow food and transition towns; among others. 

6 month ago we decided to start walking towards a 5 hectares land, 5 kms from Libertad (a city with 13.000 inhabitants 1 hour from the capital, Montevideo, to the west). The accorded amount for it was 50.000 usd. At first we were 6 families that compromised to get 10.000 each, buy it, and make our life garden and home, our productive field and a Permaculture School, a popular and alternative way of learning in permanent interaction with the nearest towns and whoever want to share. Volunteering point, Ecohostel and others.

The months passed and we (me and my wife), were the last standed, we put 5.000usd for the reservation, and we have others 5.000. but actually not the rest.

We´ve written lots of people for support, and we´ll still opening the project but someway it has not been that easy, but it has made us move and keep on looking for options, investments, something that might be precious for the ones being there. 

So, we are sure, for our experience, the information and the connections that we have, we know we´re going to be a sustentable base of living, eating, learning and sharing there. We also know that Uruguay is a beautiful place that a lot of people is looking and moving in with great possibilities; first of all to be in peace, creating together.

In this why i´m witing to you, offering this place to whom might be interested, may be to your organization, might be as a base place for designing other places, a design place; or what you think might be good; all ways opened; eitherway we´d like to be part of this creation, working in organic production, education and personal growth.
